Insurance Brokers Code of Practice

Master Builders Insurance Brokers (MBIB) is a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) the peak representative body Australia's general insurance broking industry.

NIBA member firms all hold an Australian financial services licence, issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) under the Corporations Act, which enables them to deal in or advise on risk insurance products. At an international level, NIBA is a member of the Council of Asia Pacific Insurance Brokers Associations (CAPIBA) and the World Federation of Insurance Intermediaries (WFII).

MBIB also subscribes to the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice (the Code) which sets out standards of conduct for all Members of the National Insurance Brokers Association. The Code represents the commitment of Code Subscribers to clients, prospective clients and other parties with whom Code Subscribers interact in performing services. The Code serves to guide Code Subscribers and consumers on what to expect throughout the client journey. It sets out the principles that shape the way Code Subscribers behave, deal with people and make decisions.
