Construction risk insurance policies should as a matter of course provide inland transit protection for goods in transit to and from the site. It is important to check the overall sum insured in respect to this, as some insurers tend to limit this coverage.
Importantly, in some construction projects there will be circumstances where goods forming part of the contract works will be imported. It is important to note that the traditional works policy will exclude these risks. It is appropriate to arrange a separate policy of the insurance to cover the exposure for such risks.
