Our Business Development and Account Executives bring extensive experience in servicing clients of various sizes and complexity, from sub-contractors and owner builders through to large scale commercial projects.
Following is an overview of our key people:
Michael Walshe - General Manager
Michael Walshe began his insurance career in 1982. A career insurance broker, Michael has spent the last 25 years advising construction industry clients and major construction projects.
He has held a number of senior management positions over this period, all in relation to the marketing, arrangement, broking and servicing of constructions risks.
Michael has developed construction programs for contractors, principals and major infrastructure projects, civil contractors, building contractors including annual covers for some of Australia’s leading developers, builders, contractors and principals. Throughout this period, Mike’s employment included terms with Willis Construction Risks, Sedgwick and Lowndes Lambert.
Michael has a Bachelor of Business (Insurance), Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) and is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance.
Andrew Griffin - Financial & Affinity Risks Manager
Andrew Griffin joined MBA Insurance Services from Insurance Australia Group in October 2008 and has over 15 years commercial experience in finance and insurance environments.
Formerly Global Head of Compliance with WestLB Asset Management in London, Andrew has provided risk consulting services to companies including Citibank and Lloyds TSB.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from La Trobe University and is currently a Non–Executive Director of Six Figures International Pty Ltd.
Barry Hennigan - Western Region Manager
Barry Hennigan has been involved in the insurance industry since 1983. He has worked in the Australian and London markets, across a broad spectrum of industries with a heavy focus on Building and Construction.
In 2007 Barry joined MBAIS as the Western Region Manager. In recent times his role has been extended to include the Northern Territory as well as the management of six dedicated construction brokers.
Barry’s broad skills and experience have benefited clients on a wide range of issues and problems, ranging from advice and general broking of risks, to claims matters.
Barry’s experience in infrastructure projects in both Australia and the United Kingdom ensures he can lead and deliver on customer expectations.
Barry has completed a Bachelor of Business (Insurance), Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) and is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance.
Enrique Sicurella - Southern Region Manager
Enrique Sicurella joined MBA Insurance Services in 2005 with a strong background in Home Warranty Insurance. Prior to that he had worked with some of Australia’s leading volume builders to ensure their warranty eligibility was maintained in the turbulent period that followed HIH’s collapse and Dexta’s withdrawal from the market.
As Business Development Manager Enrique worked quickly to broaden his product knowledge in other construction risk lines, and following the achievement of strong sales results was promoted to Manager of General Insurance in 2006.
Identified as a natural leader and coach Enrique was appointed Southern Region Manager for MBA Insurance Services in 2008 on the back of his expert product knowledge and sustained sales growth. Leading a team of eleven Business Development & Account Executives Enrique is focused on delivering unprecedented value to clients.
Enrique holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from La Trobe University.
Stephen Duncan - Northern Region Manager
Steve Duncan joined MBA Insurance Services in April 2008 and has specific responsibility for the servicing and marketing of the New South Wales market.
With over 30 years insurance experience, including 20 years with major international broking firms Marsh, Aon & Willis, Steve has extensive experience in account servicing, marketing and risk placement across a variety of business sectors and industries.
Steve has had significant experience in the construction sector, including large government infrastructure projects and principal controlled programmes.
Steve has a Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) and is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
